Since the early 1980s, these 50 women have disappeared from Vancouver's Downtown Eastside

1. Rebecca Guno -- June 1983. Rebecca, 23, when she was last seen almost 20 years ago, was working in the Downtown Eastside.

2. Sherry Rail -- January 1984. Sherry, 18, had a tattoo of a butterfly on her left shoulder blade. She was last seen in January 1984 and reported missing in January 1987.

3. Leigh Miner -- December 1984. San Francisco-born Leigh, 34, phoned her sister on Dec. 17, 1993 to ask for money. That was the last time her family heard from Leigh.

4. Laura Mah -- sometime in 1985. Laura, age unknown, went missing in 1985 but her disappearance was not reported until the summer of 1999.

5. Elaine Allenbach known exclusively as Lisa Morrison in Vancouver-- March 1986. Elaine, 21, a known sex trade worker was supposedly going to leave for Seattle before she went missing from the Downtown Eastside.

6. Teressa Williams -- July 1988. Teressa, 15, was last seen in 1988 and reported missing 11 years later in 1999. A runaway who had two children as a teenager, Teressa was a drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

7. Ingrid Soet -- August 1989. Ingrid, 30, had some mental health issues and was a known drug user last living in the Downtown Eastside when she was last seen in Aug. 1989 and reported missing Dec. 1990

8. Nancy Clark aka Nancy Greek -- sometime in 1991. Nancy, 25, failed to return home to her two daughters. She was last seen Aug. 22 at the corner of Broughton and Gordon streets in Victoria.

9. Kathleen Wattley -- June 1992. Kathleen, 37, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

10. Elsie (Jones) Sebastien -- sometime in 1992. Elsie, age unknown, disappeared in 1992 and was officially reported missing nine years later in 2001.

11. Angela Arseneault -- sometime in 1994. Just 17 when she disappeared, Angela was last seen in downtown Vancouver by her boyfriend after the couple had gone shopping and out for dinner. She got on a bus to return to their Burnaby apartment and disappeared.

12. Catherine Gonzalez -- March 1995. Catherine, 33, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

13. Catherine Knight -- April 1995. Catherine, 32, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside where she was last seen.

14. Dorothy Spence -- August 1995. Dorothy, 33, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

15. Diana Melnick -- December 1995. Diana, 20, always had her hair in a ponytail and was a drug user and sex trade worker in the area of Victoria and Hastings.

16. Tanya Holyk --October 1996. From Klemtu, Tanya's sister Cathy wrote: "if your out there and see this please please tell me your okay. I Love You alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Tanya was 21 when she went missing.

17. Olivia Williams -- December 1996. Olivia, 22, was a known drug user and sex trade worker. She was last seen in December 1996 and reported missing in July 1997.

18. Frances Young -- sometime in 1996. Frances, 33, was a chef who was also involved in the sex trade. Her mother tried for two years to get her disappearance publicized.

19. Stephanie Lane -- January 1997. Stephanie used her mother's calling card on Jan. 11 that year to make a call. She was never heard from again.

20. Helen Hallmark -- August 1997. Helen, 32, was a known drug user and sex trade workers in the Downtown Eastside when she was reported missing in August 1997. Helenís birthday is in June. It has been verified that Helen disappeared in August of 1997 when police had picked her up in the paddy wagon. There is no record of this by the VPD.

21. Janet Henry -- June 1997. Janet, 36, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside when she disappeared in June 1997.

22. Marnie Frey --August 1997. "Wher-ever you may rest you'r tired body my love we are with you always in our hearts and souls, love MOM and DAD xxoo." Marnie was 25, when she disappeared.

23. Jacqueline Murdock -- August 1997. Jacqueline, 27, was originally reported missing in Prince George and later seen in the Downtown Eastside.

24. Cindy Beck -- September 1997. Cindy, 32, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

25. Andrea Borhaven -- sometime in 1997. Andrea, 25, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

26. Sherry Irving -- sometime in 1997. Sherry, age unknown, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside

27. Cindy Feliks -- sometime in 1997. Cindy, age unknown, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

28. Kerry Koski -- January 1998. Kerry, 39, looked malnourished and underweight when she was last seen.

29. Inga Hall -- February 1998. Inga, 46, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

30. Sarah deVries -- April 14, 1998. Before she disappeared, Sarah, 28, had begun work on an alphabet book for her daughter Jeanie. A friend last saw her on the corner of Hastings and Princess in the early morning hours about 3:30 April 14, 1998.

31. Elaine Dumba -- April 1998. Elaine, age unknown, was a known drug user and a sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

32. Sheila Egan -- July 1998. Sheila, 20, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

33. Julie Young -- October 1998. Julie, 21, was a drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

34. Angela Jardine -- November 1998. Days before she disappeared from her apartment at the Portland Hotel, Angela volunteered at a seminar on streets and violence.

35. Marcella Creison -- December 1998. Marcella, 20, normally called her mother daily and was last seen Dec. 27. Tammy Culbert keeps hoping and is willing to volunteer to help find her younger sister.

36. Michelle Gurney -- December 1998. Michelle, 19, was a known drug user and sex trade worker when she disappeared.

37. Jacqueline McDonell -- January 1999. Age 23 Jacqueline, age unknown, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

38. Georgina Papin -- sometime in 1999. Georgina, 37, began experimenting with drugs and prostitution at age 11. She left her boyfriend after a fight and was last seen March 2.

39. Brenda Wolfe -- sometime in 1999. Brenda, age unknown, was a drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown eastside.

40. Wendy Crawford -- November 1999. Wendy, 44, suffered from diabetes and Crohn's disease and required regular medication. She had been a drug user since she began sniffing glue as a teenager.

41. Jennifer Furminger -- sometime in 1999. Jennifer, age unknown, was a known drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside.

42. Dawn Crey -- sometime in 2000. Dawn, 43, drifted into drugs and prostitution and never recovered from the loss of witnessing her father's death from a heart attack at the age of 3.

43. Debra Jones -- sometime in 2000. Debra, age unknown, was a drug user and sex trade worker in the Downtown Eastside when she disappeared.

44. Patricia Johnson -- March 2001. Patricia lived on Vancouver's streets for five years, had two children, went into rehab, but couldn't kick her heroin addiction before she disappeared.

45. Heather Bottomley -- April 2001. Heather, 25, was reported missing April 17, the same day she was last seen.

46. Heather Chinnock -- April 2001. Following a fight with her boyfriend Heather, 30, got into a cab and left their Surrey apartment. She has not picked up her welfare cheques since.

47. Angela Joesbury -- June 2001. Angela, age unknown, was a drug user and sex trade worker when she disappeared from the Downtown Eastside.

48. Sereena Abbotsway -- August 2001. Serena, 25, was a second-generation Downtown Eastside resident when she went missing last August. Her father had lived in the area since he was 12 and died of an overdose.

49. Dianne Rock -- October 2001. Dianne, 34, disappeared Oct. 19 and was reported missing to Vancouver police on Dec. 13.

50. Mona Wilson -- November 2001. Mona, 26, was last seen Nov. 23 and reported missing a week later.
